Catch it while you can – Last week of stunning exhibition

on 26 June 2017.

Simon Brett

Quietly and without fanfare, The White Horse Gallery has been mounting knock-out exhibitions which have rapidly established its reputation as the place to go for quality art in Marlborough. This week sees your last chance to catch the stunning wood engravings of Simon Brett.

One of the leading engravers of his generation, Brett has lived in Marlborough for forty five years and this collection of his work is largely taken from his illustrations for the Folio Society including Jane Eyre, Middlemarch, Legends of the Ring and the poetry of Keats, Shelley and Byron among others. Other engravings including the stunning print sequence Axe of God have been made as prints in their own right and are available at ludicrously low prices - most can be purchased from as little as £85. Little wonder The White Horse Bookshop has just scooped its second award in as many months, this time the Muddy Stiletto Award for Best Bookshop 2017. And the garlands keep rolling in.
