The passion comes to Marlborough

on 10 April 2017.

passion of the christAs part of its Easter Celebrations, the Christchurch Methodist Church will be staging The Marlborough Passion Play on Saturday 15th April, starting at 4pm in the High Street and continuing into The Parade until around 6pm. With a cast of more than sixty actors telling the age-old story of Easter and children from local schools lining the route with the palm leaves they have made, it promises to be quite a performance, enacting the imprisonment, whipping and crucifixion of Christ.

It would be worth making a day of it. The Saturday Market will be in full swing and Marlborough's many shops, restaurants and cafes and bars will keep the crowds amused. Best of all, additional free parking will be available in Marlborough College grounds (SN8 1PA) from 10am and Marlborough Common (SN8 1DL) from 2pm.

The Methodist Church are able to stage this performance, with its professional sound system and staging for free thanks to the generosity of their funders and sponsors. If you would like to make a donation, there will be a collection for Wiltshire's Air Ambulance which delivers their critical, life-saving service without a penny of public money.
