Keeping the children entertained and finding things for them to do during the school holidays is a perennial headache for parents. Lending their weight to the effort, the independent retailers of Marlborough have created a wizard wheeze with their Easter Egg Hunt running from 8th April to 23rd April, two whole weeks covering the holidays. Children collect stickers from the local shops, some they might never have seen before to put in their leaflet (available from all shops) and when complete receive a real chocolate egg. A sure-fire way to get your shopping done without the children complaining and help them get to know the hidden corners of their town.

The scheme has been devised with the twin aims of coming up with something fun for children to do and supporting Marlborough's local, independent businesses and having a positive effect on the local economy. For every £1 you spend with a local independent business, between 50p-70p circulates back into the local economy but when you shop online our out of town, only 5p of that £1 trickles back. Do your bit to keep your high street, town or village centre open for business.

This event has been organised by Ducklings Toy Shop with support from the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce. For more information go to: www.indieeaster.co.uk where leaflets can be added to your Facebook account or emailed.
