No ordinary school run… in the MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch

Raising children is a constant merry-go-round of getting people to the right places at the right time with all the required paraphernalia: school bag, check, lunch box, check, homework, check.

As a busy parent, I want a car that works hard to fit in with my lifestyle and the new MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch I collected from Dick Lovett in Hungerford is full of little surprises….

When you walk into the MINI showroom at Dick Lovett in Hungerford, you feel you are buying a quality product, no-pushy sales people just genuine MINI lovers who really know their product and are nuts about its performance.dick lovett Booking my 48-hour test drive was a seamless, pleasurable experience involving a leisurely chat over a cup of proper coffee, moments later finding myself behind the wheel of a brand-new MINI Cooper, which my daughter, 4-year-old Zia affectionally calls “The MINI car!”.

In sleek Emerald Grey Metallic with sports seats (for the big people) and 3 proper seats in the back, I am instantly transcended from my daily routine. It’s like MINI have provided for both your inner child and the real ones who ask how far we’re going and compete for who can eat the most snacks along the way. Is it really possible to not compromise style and performance to have a family car? It was certainly seeming more likely….

The MINI dashboard is simple and intuitive, and the MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch is a dream to drive, requiring minimal effort and offering maximum pleasure with cruise control, rain and parking sensors, comfort access and so much extra space (the whole car has been lengthened by 16cm) affording generous leg room for my 5 ft 11-inch figure!

On to the boot, no family car is complete without room for sports practice, musical instruments and a pram! My fold down pram fits neatly in the 278-litre boot and all the back seats fold right down so if I fall in love with some rustic chest of drawers there is a good chance I will fit it in! My attention is also drawn to the spacious storage compartment underneath the boot, the perfect space to keep essentials for your journey. Despite an average day of nursery school pick up and food shopping, the whole family is in a good mood in this car, testament to its quirky character you can’t help but feel it’s a part of the team.

So, does the MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch cut the mustard as a family car? I certainly think so, with extra legroom and boot space, 3 seats and isofix fittings in the back, this cheeky car could easily become a family favourite in our house.

dick lovett The best part? You can own this MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch from just £279.00 per month, with the same in deposit. It comes with 3 years warranty and roadside assistance as standard and with the MINI team at Dick Lovett behind you, who knows what adventures lay ahead.
